Surprise about the roads infrastructure!!!

Have you ever thought that roads are the most important part of the infrastructure of any country. I remember once some great economist said "Roads are the mirror of the economy of any country". Better roads better economy. It was well established by even English before Independence. Why the governments afterwards did not think & plan about it. It was only Bajpayeeji's led govt. who thought of the "Pradhanmantri sadak yojana". That is why we see For lane highways being constructed all over India (U.P. also).
You can see the highway flyover from ramadevi to Panki which is part of it. It has lessen a lot of heavy traffic load bypassing Kanpur saving time, money, energy, all. More than 50 years Congress men did not think of it, if so, then we have not seen implementation.
